The NYC Green Fund supports an equitable and resilient network of parks and open spaces to benefit the well-being of all New Yorkers. Launched in 2020 as an emergency-response program to address the urgent needs facing parks and open spaces during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Fund endures with support from a collective of national, family, and community foundations, including the Leon Levy Foundation. Through financial, technical, and network support, the Fund helps create a resilient and equitable NYC parks ecosystem offering respite, recreation, and connection to nature and sustaining a crucial part of our city’s infrastructure and environmental resiliency. Since 2020, the Fund has distributed more than $12 million across the five boroughs.
