The Foundation has been a longtime partner and supporter the New York Botanical Garden, and in 2023 awarded a multiyear institutional archives grant to create the Shelby White and Leon Levy Archives. Their dedicated LuEsther T. Mertz Library team, led by Rhonda Evans, J.D., have begun the important work of processing and digitizing NYBG’s institutional records that will enable public access to rare, diverse, and historical information. This archival initiative ensures the legacy of this iconic institution and accessibility of its holdings to the greater public. NYBG is an anchor in the cultural fabric of New York City and a destination for nature lovers and learners worldwide, and its scientific records and collections will now be preserved and available for future generations.
