Dr. Suver is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Neuroscience Institute at NYU Langone Health. She obtained her Bachelor’s Degrees in Biology and Computer Science at the University of Washington. Dr. Suver later earned her Ph.D. in Computation and Neural Systems at the California Institute of Technology. Working in the lab of Dr. Michael Dickinson, Dr. Suver studied behavioral neuromodulation of visual circuits using a combination of whole cell patch clamp recordings, genetics and quantitative behavioral analysis. More recently, in the lab of Dr. Katherine Nagel, Dr. Suver has characterized novel central circuits underlying mechanosensation in the fruit fly. As a Leon Levy Neuroscience Fellow, Dr. Suver aims to develop the fruit fly as a model for understanding basic principles of active touch.
